57. my week in bullet points
the beach, a wedding, a new year, classic books and arcs, dancing, and scooby doo
Who haven’t I gotten inspiration from for this? I believe
, , and have all done this, and I absolutely loved it. I’ve also had a truly lovely week, and it seemed like a great way to share it with you all.Monday
Sun. 60 degree weather. The beach. Perfection.
Unintentionally walked 4 miles (and I loved it)
Finished Pride & Prejudice (and I loved it)
No anxiety over “not doing anything” (a win)
Attended the Rehearsal Dinner with my sister and grandparents. It was a nice evening with them which I’m thankful for.
Tuesday
Sun. 65 degree weather. A bit of wind.
Collected some shells from the beach. Couldn’t stop thinking about the song Unwritten.
Wedding day. I felt really pretty.
Perfect day and weather for the ceremony.
Lucky In Love was the phrase that echoed through my head all night.
Danced with my cousins (who knew some of us had rhythm).
Wednesday
Learned I walked the equivalent of 10 miles the day before - no wonder my legs ache.
Really enjoyed my bagel at brunch. This stands out to me even now. I want another.
Laid by the pool most of the day, reading and nearly falling asleep. Peace.
Had to begin my writing challenge. I didn’t want to but I did.
Watched Scooby Doo with my cousins while we ate BBQ for dinner. I love the duality from Monday night to tonight.
Thursday
Early morning drive home. I was exhausted.
Stopped at the grocery store and had an unsettling encounter with a man.
Thankful I had today off of work.
I unpacked and showered and reread Practice Makes Perfect by Sarah Adams all afternoon.
Fretted over my 2025 vision before finally putting it all together and letting it go because that was the point anyway.
Friday
Woke around 5 am to my throat burning. Oh no.
Soldiered through my morning routine, even doing my pilates, while downing emergen-c and green tea.
A light day at work that I was thankful for and Criminal Minds in the background.
A walk to the store at lunch to buy a wall calendar for the year. I’d like to spice up my work desk to make it my desk, you know?
Physical therapy midafternoon that was essentially a workout.
Evening spent on the couch trying to feel better while updating my budget for 2025 and writing out my 10 life goals. I like them. I’m going to tape it to the wall over my desk next to the calendar.
Late dinner of comfort pasta. Watched two episodes of Abbott Elementary with my roommate. Fell asleep early.
Saturday
Woke around 8 am, which is a luxury especially with my throat.
Read for an hour and a half before getting up to make breakfast.
Had breakfast in bed and decided I’d have an easy day to help myself feel better.
Writing my article as I write this. It’s been nice to reflect on my week. I’ll be back to finish the week off before I publish this.
I’m back. I read a lot and got some random things done around the apartment. It was a good day.
Sunday
I’m finishing this up in bed at 10:30 am - what a luxury!
My voice is gone when I wake up, but it’s slowly coming back throughout the day.
I’d like a day like Saturday. Grateful for a slow weekend to recuperate from the past few weeks.

Books I’ve compiled from a variety of lists such as the New York Times, Indiebound, and the B&N Top 100, but also through what I’ve seen online. I’ve decided to simply add the books I haven’t before, since I’ve caught up to the new additions. If you’re curious, last week’s post can be found here.
Same goes as last week for NYT, but I found some really interesting ones on Indiebound!
Rental House by Weike Wang (Lit Fic)
The City and It’s Uncertain Walls by Haruki Murakami (Fantasy)
The Serpent & The Wolf by Rebecca Robinson (Fantasy)

Pride & Prejudice by Jane Austen
I KNOW. Duh. But. BUT. I hadn’t read it until now because I knew I wouldn’t have appreciated it when I was younger. After gaining some (I hope) maturity and appreciation as well as rewatching the movie several times over, I thought I would be ready. And I was. And I honestly had a fantastic time reading it. There is a lot more detail than the movie - of course - and I enjoyed seeing some things from Mr. Darcy’s perspective. All I have to say is that it’s a classic for a reason.
That’s all for today. Much love
Izzy
This weeks sounds so dreamy! You look absolutely beautiful in those pictures too <3
You sleeping in until 8am reminded me that at some point over the Christmas break I woke up at 7:20 (about normal) for half an hour or so and then fell asleep again until 11:30 💀 Can you imagine!!!
