This is such a brilliant read, Izzy! I haven't reread a book in so long because my TBR is just staring at me (lol) but I do have lots of books I want to return to. I keep all of my favourite books so I can reread them and loan them out, and I love seeing the spines crack more and more.

There is such a comfort in already knowing. Books are great for making us think and keeping us on edge, but sometimes we just need to escape into a world we already know.

I loved this Izzy! Rereading has been such a good comfort in times of need, and just like you have been discovering how I used books to escape when I was younger. Books are such a big part of dealing with life, at least it is for me, and it so nice to see that other readers have similar experiences.

Ugh I adored reading this Izzy.

"To me, a sign of a well loved book is one with creases from my fingers throughout the years, a warm smile when I see it on my bookshelf, the marks on different pages as signs I was there, I lived."

I'm a big fan of a reread, hence my personal need for a big personal library. There's titles I've had for over two decades, worn old and yellow from endless rereads, and your words have made it completely necessary for me to go and pluck another for the (re)reading!

I completely agree with all of this. Personally, I just recently re-read The Secret History for the first time and annotated it to gift to a friend, which was such an interesting and fulfilling experience. If anyone is going back and forth on a reread, I cannot recommend annotating a book you love as a gift enough! I honestly think I'll reread The Secret History every fall/winter. Its such a deep and detailed read, and I feel like I caught so much more this time around than the first time.

This is so interesting Izzy. I used to reread as a child, but I would love to do more of this as an adult. You're right, every reading experience is unique. I might come out with a completely different opinion on a book!
