Disclaimer: I am, by far, an expert in MFA programs. I’ve only done a bit of research, and my thoughts and rant are based on that bit. For those of you who know more than me, please comment or send me a DM. Learning is growing!

I try really, really hard to not judge things by their cover. Some favorite books have, in my opinion, not as pretty covers. Some beautiful books I didn’t like very much. And that applies to everything in life.

However.

MFA Programs, in this article, I will be judging by its cover.

I have always wanted to get my masters degree. I love to learn and thrive in that setting. I thought it would be my MBA, but as my love of writing has grown this last year, my mom said I should look into MFA programs.

So, I did. And I didn’t quite like what I found.

Primarily, I enjoy writing fantasy. I enjoy diving into a brand new world and creating literal magic in my mind. I enjoy the challenge of it. I quickly realized that perhaps MFA programs don’t.
