54. Bookish Gift Guide pt 2
i had too much fun last time. for my lovers of sci fi, nonfiction, classics, and poetry.
Honestly, I had a lot of fun last time, and how can I forget other genres? There should still be time for some last minute gifts!
For the Sci Fi Lovers
Scythe Trilogy by Neil Shusterman: one of the only science fiction series I’ve read (I’m sorry) but I adored it. Such an interesting and wonderfully built world, compelling characters, and a trilogy that grows on itself.
This is How You Lose The Time War by Amal El-Mohtar and Max Gladstone: A short story that I both didn’t really understand what was going on and was profoundly impacted by. It is entirely unique and deeply touching. Beautiful.
Star Wars gifts: There are so many amazing options, that I just added the entire search including all sorts of cool lamps and apparel.
For the Nonfiction Lovers
Educated by Tara Westover: one of the first memoirs I read. It is unbelievable and yet quite something to remember. It definitely put things into perspective.
Untamed by Glennon Doyle: I have not read this one, but it sounds beautiful. A story about being true to yourself and embracing all that it is.
Personalized Leather Journal: I linked Etsy, but of course there are so many wonderful journal and stationary companies out there. These journals would be particularly nice for a nonfiction lover, so they can jot all of their ideas, memories, and introspection whenever wanted.
For the Classic Lovers
Collectors edition of one of their favorites, such as Jane Eyre, Pride and Prejudice, or The Picture of Dorian Gray
Literary Puzzles: Guys these are so cute! They have so many, so whatever you think your loved one will enjoy I am sure they have.
Tote Bags: These ones are so cute and look like books! However, you can find these all over the internet.
For the Poetry Lovers
Collected Poems by Emily Dickinson: Yeah I don’t think I have to explain this one. Emily is one of the poets that speaks to my heart.
Devotions by Mary Oliver: About nature, love, and humanity. One of Mary’s pieces completely changed the way I think a few months ago.
A Print of Their Favorite Quote: This one on Etsy is just *chefs kiss* — how cute and meaningful is this??
Poetry Subscription Box: I’ve linked an example of one that looks really cool! How fun is this gift - new and exciting poetry in every box!
In General …
Apparel: ThreadedbySabrina, Enlightened Soul Co, ChapterCatchers
Subscription Boxes: Book Of The Month, The Book Drop, Illumicrate
Book Nook Shelf: Look at this one - I think they have a few designs.
Audible Subscription: for the audiobook lovers.
Which of these is your favorite?
Note, the links to books are affiliate links! I thought there would be more holiday books, but a fun mix of mystery and romance too.

Main Street Millionaire by Codie Sanchez (Personal Finance)
The Serviceberry by Robin Wall Kimmerer (Essays)
Hi, Robin Wall Kimmerer.
I didn’t know much about Robin except that Braiding Sweetgrass and The Serviceberry are wildly successful. Robin is a scientist, having received her MS and PhD in Botany from the University of Wisconsin. Robin focuses on restoring ecological communities and our relationships to land.
Robin has several other novels and a litany of credentials and awards. Robin has done a simply wondrous job educating the general public about the land and learning about Earth via plants and all of the innate beauty of it. She is a role model all of us should have - loving and listening to the Earth and trying to educate us about it.
Robin lives in upstate New York on an old farm (literally of course), and I’m sure her gardens are stunning. She has some YouTube videos here, and you can learn more on her website and Facebook.

The Ashen series: I am on the second book, and the next three are still set to release but wow is this such a unique world! It is also plotted very specifically, smartly, and builds upon everything. Super well written - and vikings!
That’s all for today. Much love
Izzy
