I used to be able to read for hours. Before classes and after, all throughout the day. I could escape for hours at a time, and I read quickly because of it. I am a reader.

When I started my first big girl job almost exactly one year ago, I suddenly felt the floor slip beneath my feet. Part of my identity was reading a lot, being a fast reader. I was almost able to keep up with my never-ending TBR list, eagerly devouring it all. Reading was a particular comfort to me in late 2023, aiding me through a rather tough mental fall and allowing me a social outlet for the first time.

I say this to tell you that I don’t really know how to read more without overwhelming yourself. I say this so you know that I am trying too. With that being said, here are a few tricks I’ve used:
